The Society for Critical Exchange regularly sponsors events at the following organizations of which it is an affiliate: MLA , MMLA , SAMLA , NEMLA

The SCE also has sponsored events at SCMLA, RMMLA, PAMLA

New Activities at MLA

The 2007 sessions in Chicago feature discussions of Writing Empires.

The 2006 panel in Philadelphia revisited the past 30 years of the SCE. 2005 session in Washington D.C focused on Imperialism, Globalization, and Cultures of Exhibition. The 2004 MLA meeting featured a session on " Cognitive Disability and Textuality ." The 2003 MLA meeting featured a session on the "Casualities of Copyright Policy."

New Activities at MMLA

The 2007 meeting in Cleveland will take the shape of a working conference on Image and Imagination in the Visual and Verbal Arts.

2006 session in Chicago, Illinois focused on:
Abducting the Interactive: Literary Work as a Communicational Artifact

The 2005 session featured a session on Memory and American Masculinity. The 2004 featured a session on "Cultures of Exhibition". The program remains available for the 2003 MMLA program in Chicago on "New Histories of Writing."

New Activities at SAMLA

The 2007 meeting will center on Autism Texts.

2006 panels focused on Journalism in the History and Theory of Writing.

The 2004 meeting featured two SCE sessions: the programs for "(En)Gendering/Desire," and "Marxism and Religion Today" appear here. See the conference program for the 2003 SAMLA session on improvisation in jazz.

New Activities at NEMLA

2008 sessions in Buffalo, NY, will Interrogate the Natural (see call for papers).

Topic for 2007 meeting in Baltimore, Maryland: Critical Fidelity

Criticism and the Divine occupied the 2006 meeting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Theorizing Disability occupied the 2005 SCE NEMLA sessions in Cambridge, Massachusetts .

Other New and Recent Activities

In February 2004, the Society sponsored a graduate panel at the Twentieth Century Literature Conference on a novel way to teach critical theory.
