Major Finds

Major Finds are objects or architectural features that may be of special interest to users. The Middle Bronze Age Architecture is a large feature, perhaps a tower, that constitutes the highest standing Middle Bronze architecture in Jordan. It comprises a portion of what was probably a city wall. The Byzantine Hoard is a collection of Byzantine solidi and earrings that were found in a single vessel. Ostraca are the inscribed sherds found in several seasons during excavation. Finally, the Iron II Krater, on exhibit in the National Museum in Amman, is a ceremonial vessel with a frieze of images impressed on the surface.
