The Cleveland Medical Library Association (CMLA) was founded in 1894 and has been in its present location, the Allen Memorial Medical Library at 11000 Euclid Avenue, since 1926. The building and many of its collections are owned by the CMLA. The library, however, operates as part of the Cleveland Health Sciences Library, which is jointly administered by the CMLA and Case Western Reserve University (Case).
