The Historical Society’s complex houses the History Museum, the Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum, the Chisholm Halle Costume Wing and the Hay-McKinney Mansion. Admission allows access to all regular collections housed in the complex.
The museum includes the Hay-McKinney mansion built in 1911 and designed by the son of President James Garfield. Visitors tour expansive parlors and living areas featuring every amenity available at the turn of the century. The Chisholm Halle Costume Wing has more than 30,000 articles of clothing and accessories from the 1790s to the present. The Society offers special rotating exhibitions that focus on various aspects of Northeast Ohio’s history.
