Operated by the National Park Service, this area encompasses 33,000 acres and features a variety of natural, cultural, historical and recreational features. The Towpath Trail is a bicycling and hiking trail extending nearly 20 miles in the park and continues to the north and south. Museum exhibits are available at Canal Visitor Center, Boston Store and Frazee House.
