Founded in 1942, The Northeastern Ohio Inter-Museum Council serves some 70 members in Cuyahoga and the five adjoining counties. Members range from large, internationally renowned museums in major urban centers to small local history centers spread across much of the Western Reserve. The Council provides a forum for airing common goals and problems; sponsors educational workshops for museum staff and volunteers; hosts general meetings at member museums; and provides e-mail message board broadcasts for member museum activities. The Council's public products include printed and Web versions of the Guide to Northeastern Ohio Museums. The Council board of trustees accepts membership applications from museums and organizations with museum functions in the six-county area. To obtain an application and further information, e-mail Judith Sheridan at sheridan@orwell.net.
