The Office
Barbara R. Snyder, who started her academic career in higher education in the Case Western Reserve University School of Law, began her tenure as the first woman to hold the office of university president on July 1, 2007. Her investiture was conducted in August. A year later, the university is moving ahead — and Thinking Forward — with the start of its newly created five-year strategic plan.

Senior Leadership
Like Snyder, Case Western Reserve University's Board of Trustees also has earlier experience at the university — four out of every five members are alumni — and several deans and administrators have served at Case Western Reserve in previous positions. Members of senior leadership, including newly appointed Provost and Executive Vice President William A. "Bud" Baeslack III, are among the best and brightest in education administration — as well as award-winning advisers, mentors, scholars and teachers.
