THE $100K INNOVATION CHALLENGE @CASE

 

 

RULES & REGULATIONS

Prize

  1. Up to $100,000 in seed capital
    1. $75,000 will be devoted to a winner in the Northeast Ohio region.  This portion of the award is open to both students and start-up ventures with intent to operate in Northeast Ohio.
    2. $25,000 will be awarded to the best plan nationwide.  This portion will be restricted to solely to student teams. 
  2. The chance to present your plan to a panel of early-stage Venture Capitalists (VC's)
  3. Feedback from successful VC's and seasoned entrepreneurs
  4. International media exposure
  5. Opportunity to network with other potential team members

Competition Requirements

To participate in the Competition participants must not have already received seed funding greater than $100,000.

 

Competition Rules and Deadlines

An eligible team must submit an executive summary by February 13, 2006 describing the proposed venture.  The executive summaries will be evaluated by a team of judges. Twelve semi-finalists will be selected for round two.  These semi-finalists are required to submit a full length business plan by March 6, 2006. TiME and The Weatherhead School of Management, as the business plan competition organizers, reserve the right to limit, cancel, or postpone The 100K Innovation Challenge due to a low number of qualified competitors participating.

Timeline

Round One - Executive Summaries due via email submission on or before 02/13/06.  No exceptions.

Round Two - Semi-finalists are required to submit a full business plan via email on or before 03/06/06.  Judges will give meaningful, written feedback to all of these semi-finalists before narrowing the group to 6 finalists on 03/27/06.

Round Three – Finalists must give a 20-minute presentation on their business plan in person to the panel of judges on 4/20/06.  Finalists are responsible for transportation to the campus of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH for this event.  Following the presentations there will be an award ceremony announcing the winner.
